Based in the Dirty South, electronic jam band Zoogma is known for blending different styles of music that results in a fresh take on both the jam and dance music sound(s), respectively. The band’s been hard at work on its new upcoming project New Era, which aims to create a “genre defying and hard-hitting union of analog and digital” sound.
With New Era, Zoogma continues building on the platform it’s already established with previous releases and this first new single “Molasses” is a perfect example of how defy the limits of a single style or genre. The song itself opens with some melodic What So Not–esque synth melodies and hits with a heavy bass drop that will get you grooving before bringing it back with a smooth jammy bridge just when you forget Zoogma is a full live band. Check out the video below, and see WTF Zoogma is really about.
