Wild Turkey has raised the bar on viral marketing with their new smartphone app, PlayPacks which “lets you mix sounds from a track exclusively created by What So Not for this very project.” That’s right, an American bourbon company has released an unnamed track by Australia’s golden duo (Emoh and Flume) to promote a new kind flavor of whiskey. What?
The marketing aspect seems pretty strange but then again… the track is absolutely UH-MAY-ZING and I guess we just have to assume that the Kentucky based distilling company is just down with good music. The app allows users to manipulate the track by turning instruments on and off and triggering one-hit samples. What’s more… it looks like more tracks are on the way!
As strange as I find the marketing aspect I have to admit… suddenly… Wild Turkey seems pretty cool… mission accomplished? Perhaps. In any case, we’ve got the track in its entirety available for you to stream to your heart’s content. You win for now Wild Turkey, I’m actually kind of stoked to see what other music you have lined up for this campaign. And yeah, take that Sailor Jerry (aka Abusive Uncle Jerr).
Thanks to our friends at Dancing Astronaut for bringing this to our attention <3
