Chicago ghetto house legend DJ Funk just had his seminal track “Three Fine Hoes” remixed by Sinjin Hakwe and the result is surprisingly tasteful. It’s not uncommon for modern re-works of classic tracks to lose that special ‘something’ in the process but this is certainly not the case for the Spanish producer’s latest work. Sinjin Hawke creates a beautiful backdrop using pitched R&B vocals, orchestral brass and crisp, crystalline bells leading in to a ghettotech drop that feels like it was channeled from the late Disco D himself. This is definitely one track you won’t want to sleep on! Available September 16 on Booty Call Records.
