Oh, the power of the internet. We’re living in a day in age where it’s so easy for kids and anyone else to make music in their bedrooms and have it heard by listeners across the globe, but at the same time, this access has created a flood of new users making it tough to break through the noise. But those who succeed in breaking through the noise often catapult themselves into a successful career.
One such case is YouTube star Lindsey Stirling. Stirling, who was born in California, is a violinist, dancer, performance artist, singer and composer who leveraged the power of the internet, and more specifically the power of YouTube, to gain stardom for her unique choreographed videos to showcase her musical blend of classical violin and EDM.
Lindsey Sterling may be a new name to you, but to many it’s not. Forbes recently listed the talented artist as one of the world’s top-earning YouTube stars of 2015. And she deserved it; a number of her videos have surpassed 40 million views resulting in earnings of $6 million. Pretty impressive without a record deal. You can peep her work here.
