Back in January, Gorillaz illustrator Jamie Hewlett confirmed that the cartoon band would be coming back to create a new album when he posted new drawings of the band on his instagram. Now the band’s front man Damon Albarn has come out to say that he will begin recording the album in September. Gorillaz last full body of work came out in 2011 and was met with huge success. They had a couple singles in 2012, but nothing has come out since then. Part of this has to do with Damon working and touring with Blur who recently released their first album in 12 years. Get excited Gorillaz fans, new music is just around the corner.
