2018 is already shaping up to be one of Diplo‘s biggest year’s yet between the debut of his two new projects LSD and Silk City, his official Deadpool 2 single “Welcome to the Party“, his ground-breaking California EP, and a brand new SiriusXM channel Diplo’s Revolution. More importantly, 2018 has marked the peak of Diplo’s creative and musical evolution as he has pushed the boundaries of electronic music to the forefront of pop music. He’s now unveiled his new mini documentary Florida to California, which follows Diplo’s journey from his debut Florida album to his recent California EP and everything he’s conquered in between.
Throughout the documentary, Diplo discusses his growth in music and specifically the making of his California EP as archived videos from over the years highlight his work with collaborators like Madonna, Post Malone, Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, and more. At one point, they flip through all the album covers Diplo has had a hand in producing and it is really is one of those jaw-dropping moments as you spot covers for artists like Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, and Bruno Mars.
