Gorillaz are Dropping a new Album in 2018

Big news for you guys today. Gorillaz have announced they’re dropping another album in 2018. Jaimie Hewlett, the animator for Gorillaz, talked about the upcoming project in a recent interview.

“We are working on another Gorillaz album which is going to be released next year, so we’re going straight into the next album with no break, usually we have a good 5 years break but this time we decided to keep going”

“I’m inventing a new style for the next Gorillaz album. Damon [Albarn] started to send me demos for new songs quite early on and that’s exciting, to hear the new direction.”

I’m excited to hear what this new direction might entail, but with the recent release of their last album “Humanz” I can’t imagine we will be hearing any bits until later in the year. I’m also hoping that their unreleased collab with Flume is included in the tracklist.
