Safe in Sound blasted its way across the country last year, bringing the bass wherever it went. Borgore manned the headlining slot in nearly every city, bringing along artists like Flux Pavilion, Snails, NGHTMRE, and Slander along the way. The traveling festival boasted its own massive sound system, and blew the pants off of everyone that attended. From Houston to Chicago, and New York to Phoenix, there was no corner of America that was left untouched by Safe in Sound’s incredible production. It was dark, it was loud, and above all it was fun, and we have the video evidence to prove it.
I attended the Detroit show, where I got rowdy, drunk, and sweaty with a crowd that was there to do exactly the same. Dirtyphonics and Terravita joined Borgore for the bass-heavy affair. Everyone brought their A-Game, including the crowd. The energy in the room was intense. These kids were here to get the fuck down to a nonstop barrage of heavy bass, and that’s exactly what they got. From the rail to rafters, everyone was dancing their over-stimulated hearts out. And while I could write forever about the head-banging teenagers in the front row having the time of their young lives, or the backstage shenanigans from one of the most ridiculous touring groups I’ve seen, or how a man in a giant Pikachu costume was launched into the crowd, it’s always easier to see it for yourself. Check out the recap videos below, and stay tuned, because Safe in Sound is sure to be back in 2017. Stay wild, and may the bass be with you always.
