Throw up your Zs, and ask yourself whose motorcycle is this? It’s a chopper, and it belonged to Zed.
The Canadian duo continues to showcase their staying power and versatility with every track they release. Somewhere between dance and hip hop, electro, house, and dirty bass music, from a pawn shop in middle America, a chopper rides out to set the world on fire, burning everything in its path.
Except Zeds Dead, aka DC and Hooks, are from Canada, as is their long time collaborative partner, Mexican Canadian Omar LinX, so technically they’re running through the Six with their woes.
You know how that shit goes.
It always goes hella hard when it comes to tunes turned out by the likes of Omar LinX and Zeds Dead. Together they’ve released songs and EPs on Ultra and Mad Decent.
This remix takes the lyrical flow of Omar LinX from the original track, spitting the harsh truths about a society aptly characterized with this concept of stop and go, and as the chorus comes in and out, both the words and music stop and go. You can feel the weight of the words, made heavier and lower, slowed down and distorted for dramatic effect. Heravy, dirty drops further characterize the feels, dark and heavy like a rain cloud. But the music feels good no matter what, both embracing darkness with the honesty and recognition of its existence, but also showered with beaming drops of light.
Zeds dead, and somewhere a bridge burns. From the fire emerges a chopper engulfed in flames. Zeds Dead comes through the rubble with this remix. Get it while it is hot.
