Zac Efron’s highly publicized, often criticized EDM influenced movie, We Are Your Friends opened this past weekend to extremely dismal results. The film opened in 2,333 theaters while managing to bring in merely $1.8 million at the box office.
“We’re disappointed,” said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. distribution executive vice president. “We believe in Zac and this was a passion project of his.”
According to data from Box Office Mojo, Zac Efron’s EDM movie ranks as the third worst wide-release debut ever, just behind Delgo and Oogieloves In The BIG Balloon Adventure.
