The homie Equator Club of Them Flavors has an all new 3 track EP out and he’s giving it away for free! Entitled Can I Get A Hit, the EP features EC’s original version of Can I Get A Hit plus two remixes by Ballast and Jayko.
The original track has a warm, analog tech-house feel (somewhat reminiscent of Bart B More, no?) and is something I would expect to hear in a slightly more upscale setting like a lounge or intimate dance club. The remixes, while still in the vain of tech-house, both present the track in a more percussive light that is less relevant to the lounge scene and more relevant to a traditional “clubbing” scene. Ballast turns the bass way up with his remix and uses booming subs to create more of a big-room feel for the track and finally, Jayko puts a funky twist on the original with a tasteful bouncy bass line and some strategic orchestral hits.
Equator Club is definitely a producer on the rise and he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty and dabble as a polygenre-ist; he was recently featured in the latest volume of the illustrious Team Supreme weekly podcast along side some major beat-making talent, including some Alpha Pup alumni. Keep an eye on this one.
