Earlier today ZHU made waves by releasing a new original entitled “Nightcrawler,” where he blatantly fired shots at countless big names in the scene from The Chainsmokers to Marshmello. As if the controversy wasn’t enough, just hours ago house producer Duke Dumont took to twitter claiming that the new ZHU release was in fact copying several elements of an old demo the English DJ had written about 11 months ago for his album.
While it’s unclear if ZHU himself had any role in plagiarizing this record, there are certainly elements (Duke Dumont points to the vocal hook and the “vibe”) that seem quite similar to the demo. Check out Duke’s tweet below as well as a short video of him playing the alleged demo. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as the story develops.
A demo i wrote 11 months ago for my album@ZHUmusic going to give you the benefit of the doubt, but the writer on your new record stole it. pic.twitter.com/m0mxFGTeK9
