Boys Noize Lets The Dogs Out, Expect New Dog Blood in 2014

For those of us who haven’t had our fill of the acid techno, bass-packed blitzkrieg that is Dog Blood, news has recently come about hinting that the super group that took over the world this year will be back for more dog-eat-dog action in 2014. Dominating the scene from Tokyo to Chicago and everywhere in between, OWSLA head honcho Skrillex, and BNR frontman Boys Noize joined forces this year, delivering the best of both worlds as their fresh, creative side project had this year in a headlock from day one. Blending the distinct sounds of both of these titans, the Dog Blood side project has crossed heavy bass with minimal vibes, hip-hop samples with techno, trap music dubstep and electro-house, ruthlessly lighting a fire underneath dance music’s ass.

The man lesser known as Alex Ridha spilled the beans in an interview with Inthemix, letting the world know he and Skrillex are hungry for more, and that the side project that began by chance nearly a year ago will soon be returning to the studio, ready to keep their energy high and unleash more Dog Blood on the eager masses.

The Dog Blood boys will be taking their talents down under in the end of November for Stereosonic, but not before they link up in Berlin, where all the fun began a year ago. Prior to taking over Australia from the HARD stage at Stereosonic, the two dance music veterans will convene to, “hang out in my studio and maybe make some music,” according to Boys Noize. He also highlighted the cohesive dichotomy behind his partnership with Skrillex noting that, “I think both of us have our own styles and our own ways to produce music and I guess that’s what makes it interesting for us.” So far, it been clear that the entire global dance music community has been absolutely captivated by this as well.

With two EPs already out, “Next Order/ Middle Finger” and “Middle Finger pt. 2″, the super duo will undoubtedly keep us on our toes with a production style that Boys Noize characterizes as,”spontaneous”. As for me, someone who would give up their first born child for more Dog Blood music, this may be what I am looking forward to most, in what should be a bright and promising year for dance music in 2014.
