Shambhala Music Festival 2013 Recap

The Village Stage

It was a Saturday night in August on the Salmo River Ranch, Datsik had just finished his set and got on the microphone. “How many of you have been to Shambhala before?” he questioned the crowd. Almost the entire crowd erupted and cheered. “You see?” he asked, “once you come you keep coming back!” This is the perfect way to describe Shambhala Music Festival. Once you go you become part of the family extending the Shambhalove to all those you encounter and you have to go back. One thing you will also notice about Shambhala is no corporate sponsorship. This festival is 100% funded by you and this inspires them to make this experience incredible for everyone.

While there were special sets every night from the likes of Nick Thayer, Loadstar, ƱZ, Wick-It The Instigator, Griz, and more, the best part of Shambhala is the people. The sense of community here is unlike any other. From the volunteers who walk around with smiles on their face misting people who are feeling hot to the artists playing on the stages and the Shambhala Crew who make everything possible; everyone is there for the same reason: to dance and have a good time. Whether you’re laying in the river at The Living Room or hooping in the Labyrinth, everything at this festival is tailored to the concert goers.
