How does one gain respect? This is question has become a topic of controversy over the past couple days since Carnage tweeted his feelings on the subject. Not one to hold his tongue, he made sure to stake his claim as the “Producer of the Year” before releasing even one song. All of this coming after controversies involving deadmau5 and Ultra Music Festival, it seems that Carnage is on the drama warpath with no signs of slowing down.
It’s time I demand some god damn respect on my name…. producer of the year… wait till I drop this album… #CARNAGESEASON
First single January 12th. ????????

Responding to this lack of hubris, the unsuspecting hero Darude decided to chime in on the subject; stating that one gains respect through, “…actions, ethics, work put in…”, not through demanding it.
Dude, really? Is this a ’you’ thing or a generational thing? You GAIN respect with actions, ethics, work put it, not demand it. Geez. https://t.co/Ot003j00qA

These words of wisdom were directed towards someone who consistently states claims of greatness, so it could have fallen upon deaf ears. Regardless of your thoughts on how one gains respect within the music industry, all we can do now is wait to see if Carnage’s claims actually live up to the hype. #CARNAGESEASON starts on January 12 with his first single off the album.
