Freaknight is one of my favorite festivals of the year. What’s better than cramming into a dark, warehouse-style arena with 25,000 or so fellow festie-goers with carnival rides, crazy stages and letting your inner freak out on Halloween night? Not much. The folks over at USC have finally graced us with the long-awaited lineup for this year’s Sinster Circus. Check it out after the jump.
The Lineup
USC has broken the mold of the typical Seattle festival lineup. Of course you’ve got your main attractions like Kaskade, Tiesto, Dillon Francis and others you’d all but expect to see on a lineup of this scale, however, there are also tons of amazing artists you might not typically see. Artists like Galantis, Snails, Yellow Claw, and MT Eden. Freaknight 2014 has a huge variety of artists across many different genres. To put it in layman’s terms, there’s something for everyone. You can check out the full lineup above.
The Sinister Circus
Freaknight is packed with wild attractions, a passionate crowd and amazing performers both on and off the stage. When it comes to festivals, everyone experiences them differently. There are a number of variables that can negatively effect personal experiences, from long lines to inconsiderate jerks, the list goes on and on. Thankfully, you won’t find much, if any, negativity at Freaknight. USC has nearly perfected the art of throwing a festival…and it shows. The wait to get in is almost non-existent so you and your crew can get in and get freaky almost instantaneously. Remember that time you were in the crowd, gettin down to your favorite artist and the people around you ruined the experience? While I can’t promise you won’t run into a few party poopers here and there, for the most part Seattle has a healthy, happy and helpful crowd. Need water? Ask anyone and they’ll gladly give you a sip or a chug. Everyone’s there to have a good time and the good vibes resonate throughout the entire event. Seattle has a reputation for having a great scene, which has been reinforced by The Message and the Conscious Crew. Working closely with event security, they ensure that everyone in attendance is taken care of, has a good time and, above all, safe. I guarantee you will have a wicked time and no I’m not from Boston. If you’re even thinking about going, I urge you to do so.
