Gorillaz & Vic Mensa Hit the Studio

The anticipation for the new Gorillaz album keeps growing. According to Consequence of Sound, Gorillaz collaborator Remi Kabaka (aka the voice of fictional band member Russel Hobbs) posted a photo on his Instagram of Vic Mensa in the studio fueling speculation that he is working on new material with Gorillaz. While the photo originally had Vic Mensa tagged in it, the tag has since been removed making people think they want to keep the collaboration under wraps.

This collaboration isn’t too far fetched though as Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn has previously performed with Vic back during the 2014 Governor’s Ball. I personally can’t wait to hear what they’ve come up with and for the entire Gorillaz album in general. No release date has been set yet, but Damon has stated that he was going to dedicate all of 2016 to working on Gorillaz material.
