Eptic Unleashes New Flesh & Blood EP

The highly anticipated 2019 EP from Belgian bass guru Eptic has dropped via Monstercat and let me be the first to confirm this slaps! Flesh & Blood is aptly titled because this body of work takes no prisoners. It’s sound design is unique yet reminiscent of dubstep’s past, giving it a very timeless quality and repeatability with listens.

The EP starts with “Power,” a direct introduction to the heavy-hitting vibe that Eptic continuously creates in his work. “Power” has its roots in brostep soil and brings its classic sounds into the future. Following up such a banger is difficult, but “Violence” is a perfect successor. Dipping into the sounds of acid and the 303, we are gifted with a mid-tempo rager any robot could get down to. Perfectly timed, the next track is a bit more “chilled” down with its intro and melody. “Beyond The Stars” is a well-placed tie between the intensity of most of these tracks. It feels like a lovely nod to the Flux Pavilion days of old while creating its own unique lane. Next up we have the previously released Dillon Francis collaboration “Let It Go,” which is moombahton madness at its best. Finally, we come to the last track “Undefeated”. Vocal stabs and arpeggios ascend into an industrial madhouse. Classic boundary-pushing sound design that we’ve come to know from Eptic radiates through this lovely exclamation mark to close the EP.

All in all, “Flesh & Blood” lives up to its hype and the quality of music that we’ve come to expect from Eptic. No doubt this will be heard from every mainstage to campsite at a festival near you. Check out Eptic’s newest EP “Flesh & Blood” below.
