SLUMBERJACK have teamed up with Machine Age to announce their rich return to the spotlight. After shutting themselves in following a hectic touring schedule, the duo found peace and inspiration. Honing in inventiveness from their surroundings, Morgan and Fletcher sought out creativity from their roots in Southeast Asia. Commencing the road to their highly anticipated “SARAWAK” EP, the single “Daggers” provides more than just a statement.
The song is generally fresh. It bridges electronic music with a lot of instrumentation. Taking a risk by exploring new musical depths, the duo continues to break boundaries of their own. What stuck out the most in this slightly new direction was the prowess in songwriting. Enlisting Machine Age for said record seems like a match made in heaven for all parties. Starting off strong, there’s not much else to say how excited I am for the rest of the EP.
“We’re always trying to write music that moves us in new directions and ‘Daggers’ is no exception – we like to keep fans on their toes. It was a really fresh experience to write with Machine Age on this one and a nice change to be working with recordings and instruments you wouldn’t typically find in electronic dance music.” – Slumberjack
