Xie
Electronic indie pop queen Xie has exploded over the past few months with her lush remixes of Kendrick Lamar, The Chainsmokers, Billie Eilish, and Jai Wolf, her dreamy collaboration alongside VIRTU and sultry debut solo original “Habits”. Her gushing, infectiously gooey electro pop has wrapped around our hearts and easily made her one of our favorite rising female starlets. Xie is also set to perform at Number Fest alongside Marshmello, Rezz, and Two Friends and this year’s EDC.
WHIPPED CREAM
WHIPPED CREAM is one of the biggest, baddest names coming up in trap and bass. The Vancouver based producer and DJ has garnered quite the attention with her collaborations alongside YehMe2, LUCA LUSH, JUDGE and remixes of Kendrick Lamar, Rae Sremmurd, A$AP Ferg, G-Eazy, and more. Last year, she made her way around the festival circuit with appearances at Hard Summer, Shambhala, Lights All Night, and Wobbleland. Currently on her Genesis tour, WHIPPED Cream is set to perform alongside Borgore, Drezo, Datsik and Quix ahead of her Australian tour supporting NGHTMRE and SLANDER.
VenessaMichaels
VenessaMichaels has become a queen when it comes to soaking her tracks in a playful combination of jersey club and R&B pop. Her 90s scented originals and remixes have wormed their way into our hearts with their flirty and fun nature. The LA producer has collaborated alongside MOONZz, Holly, Olmos, Leven Kali, and Lil Texas, performed at Hard Summer, Camp Flog Gnaw and SXSW, and supported the likes of What So Not, Party Favor, JSTJR, and Krewella. Having already released two gooey singles “Good Love” and “Real One” this year, VenessaMichaels is on the path to takeover 2018 with her 90s flare and R&B-meets-jersey club style.
Carter Cruise
Adult film star turned DJ Carter Cruise has only impressed since her emergence into the music scene. She debuted her skills alongside Styles&Complete and Crichy Crich for their Buygore collaboration “Dunnit” before going on to remix the likes of Krewella, Ghastly, and MOONZz. Last year, Cruise released her first original “Everybody Nose Me” with Dean Cohen and performed in dozens of cities across the country with Sammy Adams, Baauer, Elephante, and Riot Ten. With only momentum behind her, Carter Cruise is sure to continue to amaze us this year.
COM3T
COM3T aka Dani Thorne aka Bella Thorne’s sister is indeed a DJ and one of the finest to rise in 2017. As part of the up and coming duo Master of the People, Dani performed at last year’s EDC Las Vegas and supported Mod Sun at The Roxy in LA. The rainbow haired producer has strived to bring a modern hippie feel to her upbeat, psychedelic originals and remixes and pushed to showcase fellow female talent through her monthly B2B mix series Girl On Girl. COM3T is one name you won’t be forgetting any time soon.
Dani Deahl
Chicago bred producer, music journalist and all around badass Dani Deahl is an acclaimed music expert by all means. Deahl has worked as a tastemaker for DJ Mag, The Verge, and Nylon and released records on Dim Mak, Monstercat, and Armada. She’s remixed the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Oliver Heldens, Pegboard Nerds, and Lookas, and collaborated with Gazzo, Jayceeoh, and Crywolf. Her music has garnered the attention of Billboard, Thump, MTV, The DJ List, Your EDM, and more, proving that Dani Deahl is one of the top rising female producers in electronic music.
Reid Speed
Drum and bass DJ Reid Speed is top-notch by all accounts. As the founder of Play Me Records, she’s curated music by some of bass’s best up and coming producers including KJ Sawka, Eliminate, Wild Boyz!, HIGHSOCIETY, and not sorry. She’s attracted the attention of the likes of Billboard, Thump, Magnetic Mag, and Nest HQ on her path to dominate the bass and dubstep world and has only continued to raise the standard for female DJs with her growing discography.
PENNYWILD
DJ and dance guru PENNYWILD is much more than your average DJ. Though she’s performed alongside the likes of Ghastly, Drezo, Medasin, and Pham, her true talent comes from years of dancing and choreographing. With feats like Marian Hill’s official tour visuals on her resumé, PENNYWILD is now exploring DJing with a Dance Dance Revolution inspiried MIDI controller, which she’s calling the PennyPad. PENNYWILD will also be performing at this year’s Buku Music and Arts Festival so be sure to catch her there.
Nala
Miami native Nala has taken over the LA scene with her lush house tones and deep techno kicks. With performances at last year’s SXSW and Miami Music Week, as well as regular performances in LA and Miami, Nala has circled the country to share her fun and flirty DJ sets. Kicking off her production game just last year, Nala has garnered thousands of plays and the attention of Mixmag, Earmilk, and Nest HQ across only four tracks.
