PREMIERE : Diskord - Anything U Want

Our newest Run The Trap premiere is coming at you from Circus Records‘ very own, Diskord. The UK duo has been on our radar for a while and seam to seamlessly be able to blend bass music, trap music and a sprinkling of other genres together into their own special blend. Diskord impressed us back in2014 with their 10 minute mini-mix they created exclusively for Run The Trap

Their newest tune, ‘Anything U Want’ is no exception to the aforementioned style. It kicks off with a catchy intro that has a bit of a chiptune inspiration with a dash of Japan. You’ll get it once you hear it, I promise. As the track picks up and we get to the first drop, you’re hit by an onslaught of chaos. The bassline is crunchy, the drums are crisp, and the sound design is complex enough to warrant another listen but fun enough to be a dance-floor heater when the time is right. We were lucky enough to ask the guys a couple of questions about the track, and as always check out the full track below, let us know what you think!

RTT : What did you have in mind when creating this track?

Diskord : “One of our favourite labels of the last couple of years is PC Music. Its a real marmite label – some people really don’t get it, but we’re huge fans. You can definitely hear that influence, especially in the intro. ” –

RTT : What feeling did you want to portray with this track?

Diskord : “For us, songs usually start to create there own feeling as you add elements to them and they dictate where they want to go. We started with the chords, and a sort of kawaii vibe started happening so we just rolled with that. We first started playing this track out when we were on tour at Christmas and the feedback was incredible. One guy told us he had goosebumps – as feelings go that’s about the best you can hope for!”
