Phewwwwww… with all the turkey and crazy football going on last week (and last night, poor Gronk) it was easy to sleep on some of the more underground music released, especially all the way over in Hamburg… but that’s why we can’t let you miss out on the latest semi-self-titled EP from German artist Yunis pronounced ju:nîs.
Regardless of what you call him, his latest 3-track release is beautiful and thoughtful, earnestly portraying a vision of “future bass” mostly free of the cliche elements that have been tired out by US producers and more akin to the versatility and identity we’ve seen from the likes of Point Point and of course Saturate Records. This is from only 3 tracks.
Purple is the banger of the bunch but these tracks go deep– be sure to give them all a chance and if you feel it, snag a free DL via Yunis’ bandcamp where it’s available as a pay-what-you-want download.
