Star Wars fandom is insanity, and has been since the 1970’s, but today’s fans are an entirely new audience, requiring the most in-your-face marketing campaign for even something as epic as the long-anticipated, forthcoming episode. In an effort to achieve the most optimum reach, forgoing any reservations about selling out via product placement, the film has allowed HP to commission dance music’s own DJ Snake to remix the theme song and Imperial March from the original films.
Even though we are only entitled to about thirty seconds of listening, this remix is guaranteed to be heavy AF. Belonging in a galaxy far, far away. DJ Snake awakens the force with this snippet of sound from the new HP + Star Wars commercial. Hopefully, we will get the full remix soon.
DJ Snake is not the first electronic artist to remix the galactic sounds of everyone’s favorite space saga, he’s not even the first to be commissioned by the official film’s team; he’s just the first Grammy nominated artist to do so. Flux Pavilion was also previously commissioned by LucasFilms for a project released through Disney.
And who could forget the two wacky Star Wars remixes brought to us by everyone’s favorite (v v talented) troll, Ookay.
As Yoda always said, may The force be with you, and turn down for what…or was that his cousin Yolo?
Our heavy hearts go out to Parisian native DJ Snake at this very tragic time in French, and world history.
