20syl has been making appearances throughout our most excellent Love Trap series posts with some massive, organic sounds that have put him very prominently on our radar here at RTT. We’re very stoked to announce that the man will be releasing a new EP entitled Motifs and in anticipation he’s created an absolutely STUNNING mix of largely unreleased tracks from the upcoming EP for the homies over at Hypetrak. Most tracks you’re gonna hear in this mix had not been released. You’ll discover the songs from my forthcoming EP ‘Motifs,’ which features contributions from Oddisee, Rita J & Ibrahim Maalouf, exclusive remixes, beats and a verse from my duo with Mr.J.Medeiros : AllttA. I called the mix “Stack Patterns” because the concept of patterns has always been the main ingredient in my productions, I’m trying to make artificial patterns sound natural and organic samples sound digital. That’s why my EP is called ‘Motifs.’ It’s all about ambiguity and paradox between those two musical components.
