We are officially full force into 2014, and along with that the highly anticipated ‘lineup announcements’ for various summer festivals begin!
Fully expected after their huge announcement last week, Outkast is already on top of the lineup of three festivals spanning three different states. It will be interesting to see if their sets are all the same across the nation, and maybe we will get some new music from the outstanding duo of Andre 3000 and Big Boi.
One exciting new face to see on all three lineups is Chance The Rapper, who had a phenomenal 2013. Many naming his mixtape, ‘Acid Rap‘ in their top ten albums of the year. He even had a collaboration with pop superstar Justin Bieber that definitely launched him onto a whole different fan base. Pretty Lights is atop 2/3 of the lineups announced today and we expect to see many more. The introduction of his live band to his sets gives festival talent buyers much more freedom with booking him as he is much more than just a ‘DJ’ now. Bloody Beetroots seems to be invading lineups once again, and if you haven’t seen a show of theirs definitely put that on your to do list. It is the perfect combination of chaos and dance music all bundled up into one sweaty mess.
Counterpoint definitely leads the way in terms of booking some electronic acts that many may not have heard of yet. Their undercard includes the likes of The Floozies, Thriftworks and Watch The Duck, all artists which should have made it onto your radar in 2013. We hope you guys get to get out to some of these amazing festivals this summer. As always, keep an eye out on the festivals’ respective Facebooks for lineup additions and changes!
