In the words of the late great Whitney Houston, “I believe that children are our future” and here at Run The Trap, we’re all about that future bass. It’s no secret that there are some great young talents in the EDM trap scene (see what Kennedy Jones has to say about it) and what with each generation becoming more and technologically sophisticated, this may be a new trend in electronic music! (I can already imagine the Disney Channel giving birth to the tween DJ. Radio Disney Turn up!) Here’s a few of our favorite 18 and under trap producers:
LVX

This 15 year old trap-prodigy may be one of the youngest out there but his talent far exceeds his age. A quick listen to his most recent EP, “DELVX” makes it apparent why this whipper-snapper has become prolific within the virtual-Dj trap scene (plug.dj, mixify, etc.)
Mura Masa
Soundcloud | Twitter | Facebook
Only slightly older at a mere 16 years old, Mura Masa is the wiz-kid of the London underground sound. We loved the dark enchantment of his “Mura Masa EP” but to give you a little taste of the other side of Mura Masa, check out this free tune he released called “6-Panel”
Hucci
Soundcloud | Twitter | Facebook
This 17 year old barely-not-legal (in the US) producer has been absolutely momentous in the development of the underground EDM trap scene. With over 41K followers on soundcloud, Hucci literally started from the bottom and made a name for himself based solely on the merits of his music.
Alex Young
Soundcloud | Twitter | Facebook
He’s so young, he’s got it in his name. Possibly the most successful of the youngsters, he’s already begun touring under the managment of Circle Management. Nobody ever uses that G.E.D. anyway!
Kai Wachi
Soundcloud | Twitter | Facebook
At a mere 18 (maybe 19 now), this barely legal producer has been on our radar since last year when he sat down with RTT for an interview. Since then he’s been building up a solid following and hitting the festival circuit. Check out this hard-hitting sub-massive track available for free download (well, you have to like his facebook):
Sampul
Soundcloud | Twitter | Facebook
Yet another 16 year old producer from the UK, Sampul’s slow and heavy style of trap harkens back to the early days of the dubstep movement. Even though he’s only been producing for 9 months, he’s already gotten the support of bigger artists like Kennedy Jones.
Sammie Beats
Soundcloud | Twitter | Facebook
All the way from Hungary, the 17 year old Sammie Beats instills that classic boosted 808 trap vibe into everything he touches. Sammie is a testament to the international popularity of the trap sound and he offers a more European take on the genre! Check out his original
What do you think of these youngsters? Is there anyone I missed? You can let me know personally on twitter (@lewdite) or hit us up on Facebook! Stay tuned for more trap, hip-hop and future bass!

Preston Marlowe says
This is so stupid, who cares how old you are. As long as you drop dope tunes that is all that counts. Posting this just makes everyone older not want to produce, because omg I am to old!
Will Snacks Codespoti says
I'm not saying I agree with it at all but, there's grown men in the Rap industry that produce that put their name or "watermark" on every song… -____-
Alex Goudy says
Seems like everyone wants to be a producer these days.
