Anyone who has ever gotten down with Hudson Mohawke or his former tag-team project along side Lunice as TNGHT, knows the release of “Chimes” is long overdue. The good news is, the bombastic, room-rattling bass gem is now finally being released. And better yet, its coming with a whole EP to go along with it.
HudMo has dropped the title track from his forthcoming solo EP Chimes to hold fans over until its official release, slated for September 29th via Warp Records. The EP will feature four new cuts, with two A side tracks and two B sides. Preordering the EP will give you an instant download for the young forward-thinker’s latest single.
“Chimes” has been one of those elusive cuts that we have only previously been able to hear live. The tune opens up with light, airy build followed by a swift whirl and thick vocal sample, as it breaks into a stomping, ear-shattering arrangement of horns and wobble bass. The addition of crisp hi hat rolls layered throughout, make for a head-bopping bass riddled show stopper.
Preorder the EP here, and get chimes instantly once you do. Enjoy.
