Friday at last… is there any better way to start off the weekend than with some fresh-ass mixes and dope free music? I don’t think so! It’s Free Joint Friday! Allow us to hook you up with some of that free goodness, coming straight from the artists themselves… no sticks, no seeds, no stems. Oooooeee!
Let’s start off with the singles. First up I got a track that actually came out a year ago on Jay Ant & Iamsu!‘s free mixtape “Stoopid.” Like a lot of the hyphy music that comes out of the bay area (yeeee), this release was mostly slept on by the hip hop community so I’m bringing it back because I’ve been playing this **** all week.

Next up we have some suuuuuuuper vibey futrue bass from the one and only Waveracer with his all new remix of Cosmo’s Midnight – The Dofflin (Which is actually a remix of Aaliyah‘s Are You that Somebody… @Lewdite is loving this). This track is somewhat reminiscent to early Hudson Mohawke with the warm tropical pads and wonky bloops and bubbles. Its like listening to colors. Download first and ask questions later.

Sticking to the future bass theme, here’s a much, much more chill, down-tempo track from the 23-year old Dpat from out of Texas. Part of the illustrious Soulection crew, Dpat uses melancholic guitar chords, marimbas and deep sub to create a delicate and organic aural scenery. The entire album In Bloom is available for free (PWYW) on the Soulection bandcamp (and it’s awesome) but this track in particular is a masterpiece that one rarely sees from such a young talent.

Last up on the singles we have an uplifting trap remix from the father of future-soul himself, Atlantic Connection. There’s no doubt that AC is on your radar already; his recent releases The Limit EP and Astronomy EP both set strong foundations for the accelerating “future soul” movement. Now just yesterday he’s come out with a trap remix of CulineR‘s In To Vapor ft. Sisely Treasure that’s available for free and sure to add freshness to your weekend mix:

BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
We also saw some pretty turnt mixes surface on the interweb this week. Here’s the top three hottest mixes, all available for free. Run The Trap knows what the **** is up.
First up we have a mix from DJ Stereotype of LA’s Ham On Everything crew. H.O.E. has thrown some of the biggest, wildest trap parties of the summer in Los Angeles and this mix is a pretty good example of why they’re rising to the top of the trap party scene in SoCal:

Next we have Bro Safari‘s set from the Electroo Zoo festival that was so unfortunately shut down after a few people died. This may have been the last thing they ever heard. Creepy trap 0_0.

Finally, we have an absolutely psychotic mix by GTA which they’ve dubbed Death To Genres Vol. 3: Made In America. This mix really does manage to cover a lot of ground genre-wise while maintaining that crunky party atmosphere we all love so much:

And there you go! If that’s not enough music to cover your weekend, then you ain’t go no job! But seriously, stick that in your proverbial pipe and smoke it.
To quote a **** who was makin’ it twerk long before Miley:
