Kill The Noise really put his name on the radar with BLVCK MVGIC, released by OWSLA in November 2012. Since then his production, collaborations, and side projects have all been perfectly on point. KTN is white hot, and doesn’t seem to be cooling down soon. Yesterday the BLVCK MVGIC Remix EP follow up was released; featuring some absolutely jaw dropping reworks. The production is impeccable, bringing a well rounded array of sounds and genres to the galvanizing EP. It also happens to commemorate OWSLA’s 50th release, further testifying to the fact that the dance music production powerhouse, helmed by Skrillex, is at the top of the game.
The EP is a collection of 9 tracks, boasting a stacked line-up of producers. Brillz takes on Talk To Me, turning it into a grimy, pounding moombah-step, trap infused heater. Trap tag-team, and close friends of the RTT family, LOUDPVCK take on classic Kill The Noise jam Jump Ya Body, giving it some fresh, bouncy, trap treatment. OWSLA’s up-and-coming Kill Paris delivers an groovy, soulful, and edgy take on Saturn, vibes for days. GTA, Bro Safari and UFO!, Nick Thayer and a handful of others, all showcase huge remix efforts spanning multiple genres across the electronic spectrum. But then there is Kill The Noise’s very own remix of his and Feed Me’s crowd commanding, in-your-face track Thumbs Up (For Rock n’ Roll). The original track is a favorite of mine, but the remix is something else. The track is a masterpiece of creative layering that delivers a brain-bending electro-house banger that is so hard it could make your teeth fall out. The track features extended sample work, ear splitting sirens, deep kicks, and if it can’t inspire you to learn to ride your bike, well then nothing can. This track is, in my humble opinion, the best Kill The Noise track out there and could certainly be my favorite track overall of the year, so far. There… I got that all out.
OWSLA is also celebrating its 50th release by giving away 50 Nest memberships. Nest is OWSLA’s exclusive online subscription service, where members have access to releases among other things in advance. In order to enter to win a membership, check out OWSLA’s Facebook page for details.
All together, big ups to Kill The Noise for an explosive release, congratulations to OWSLA on their milestone, and be sure to check out the stream of the album below. Thumbs Up everybody!
