Lil’ Wayne has been stirring up controversy with the visuals for his song “God Bless Amerika” and for good reason, Wayne has left a LOT of people outraged as clips of the New Orleans bred rapper surface of him stomping on the American flag. Cries from America were debated on both sides of the argument, some saying its unpatriotic, and some said its his First Amendment. Some even said it was purely a promotional scheme for this new video. Whether or not this is true, Wayne seems to come to his senses as the scene is absent from the final cut.
The video features Weezy at the forefront of an American flag as he sings an emotional introduction of the troubles of our government. As the beat kicks in, the flag drops to reveal Waynes hometown Holly Grove New Orleans and his community behind him as he belts out bar after bar of clever, yet confusing wordplay. Director Eif Rivera does a incredible job of capturing the songs vibe and showing the poverty still plaguing the people of New Orleans.
