A Look Inside The 2018 Blurry Vision Festival [RECAP]

On the weekend of May 12th and 13th, The Blurry Vision Music Festival welcomed many concert goers for its grand debut. Optimism filled the Middle Harbor Shoreline Park and what was held in that chilly park was two days of flourishing culture. The Bay Area is home to one of the most important markets for Hip-Hop and R&B. So, when a lineup consisting of Migos, SZA, Brockhampton, and more came to headlines, the reaction was astounding. This spectacle hung a lot of questions over our heads regarding the festival grounds, to food, and even transportation.

Reminiscing about the experience I had, I have to say, Blurry Vision is doing it correctly. The choice of food stands was phenomenal, we saw a lot of diverse styles of culinary complemented by creativity (I’m a sucker for Chicken and Waffles). When I first got off the free shuttle bus to the park, I was greeted to an exceptional view of the Bay, surrounded by the neighboring city San Francisco. There were Merch booths, Water Stations, and even an Amoeba Records booth for music lovers to purchase their favorite vinyl or cassettes. Overall, this festival was a very much needed breath of fresh air.

Serving up some happy faces from both days, what was even greater was, of course, the music. The crowd showed evident signs that many were there for their own specific tastes. Each artist had a dedicated fan base as I noticed the shuffling between the audience after every set. Though, greatness simply cannot be denied. Some performers showed incredible charisma, stage presence, crowd control, and energy. My favorites were definitely artists like SZA, Brockhampton, Migos, Majid Jordan, Roy Woods, DVSN, Joji, Clairo, Healy, and Caleon Fox.
