I remember the first time I saw GoldFish. It was North Coast Music Festival at a tiny side stage and I had no idea what to expect. The next hour was one of the most fun hours of my life.
Their newest LP, Late Night People, is 13 tracks of dance-able goodness with each song have a life of its own.
The album sets the tone with the title track that sounds like a disco heater featuring Soweto Kinch who had to be drawing on Dizzee Rascal for inspiration. The organic horn riffs feel more like something from a free-form jazz compilation than a dance album. By two and a half minutes of “Little Lies” you’ll be happy you know the words so you can sing along. GoldFish keeps their signature ‘Organic House’ vibes throughout all 13 tracks – “Absolute Power” could pass as a heater on the dance floor or something to play for the afterhours vibes.
The GoldFish live experience is truly the way to experience GoldFish. It is much more than a DJ set and features live instrumentation throughout nearly the whole thing.
GoldFish continues to remind everyone why they are one of the most fun duos in dance music. Check out the full album below and their playful music video for their future-house inspired tune “Talk To Me.”
