Two New Tracks from MitiS

Philadelphia’s own MitiS is coming at us with some hot new music, revamping his sound a bit, and will soon be releasing a new EP for all of his loyal fans to melt and swoon to; this guy makes some really magical stuff happen with crazy sounds and beautiful melodies mixed together in perfect harmony.

On occasion, we see artists remixing their own work. This is the case with this new club remix of MitiS tune released about seven months ago, Forever. MitiS has made a name for himself with signature sound that really moves his fans; melodic dubstep for your willing ears. Ambient, like a waterfall, which is sort of a signature of how this MitiS sound goes. Check out the remix he did of his own track, Forever:

This artist is best known for his original mixes though, coining a classically influenced sound in the melodic dubstep world. In this newest original, aptly entitled Foundations, MitiS is here to remind us of his roots. The artist grew up playing classical piano, and his sweeping melodies have always been an homage to that. A few years ago I caught up with Joe as I was introduced to him, and met his father as well at a gig he was playing down at the Jersey shore. His dad told him he would like to see his son get even further in touch with his classical roots, expressing the adoration he used to get watching Joe play piano, as he did it so well. Ever supportive, there was a twinkle in the mans eye as he watched his sons set that day in Wildwood. I imagined he was feeling the same affinity, just instead of a little boy playing piano was a grown man slaying the decks.

There is a little bit of both of those fellows in this new track; largely remnant of his roots in classical piano, but also a signature sound so MitiS that our faces and hearts are melting at the beautiful melodies and emotional vocals on this track. This is the title track of the Foundations EP, which dropped last month on Born Recordings. Both of these featured tracks are on the EP.
