Although it comes as no surprise to a seasoned, studied journalist like myself, some may be a bit shocked to know that Lana Del Rey‘s newest song pulls some inspiration for our favorite electronic music genre.
The trap, of course.
That is right, folks. Even pop star Lana Del Rey knows a thing or two about running the coveted trap. Hats off to her for exploring and working with such a different set of sounds, keeping fans on their tows and giving them what they want. On this particular track, the instrumentals and language, and dark, doubled vocals match echoing creepy melodies give way to audible perfection. While the quality of music is nothing new, this sound and the last song from her new album showcase new sides of Del Rey, ones we have only seen or heard her hint at in the past. And while she has been remixed into every dance music genre under the sun, none of her releases have sounded anything quite like this one. Personally, I expect nothing more than versatility and excellence from this goddess of modern music. She truly is an unstoppable female powerhouse. Who would want to stop this anyway.
Listen her to Lana Del Rey’s, “High By the Beach,” from her latest album entitled Honeymoon.

"Just put some triplet hats in it and well say it was 'trap inspired'."
