Last night, the first album from Dr. Dre in 16 years was released, and Compton dropped via Apple Music. With someone as influential as Dr. Dre – you know that he is going to get the most high-profile features possible, one of which includes Kendrick Lamar.
Kendrick Lamar, who is featured on three tracks seems to have taken the opportunity to throw shade at none other than Drake.
On “Darkside Gone” Kendrick references Drake‘s “Energy” with –
“But still I got enemies giving me energy, I wanna fight now/ subliminally sent to me all of this hate.”
Then, on “Deep Water” Kendrick flips some of Drake’s lyrics back on himself with,
“Motherf—er know I started from the bottom /They liable to bury him, they nominated six to carry him/ They worrying him to death, but he’s no vegetarian/ The beef is on his breath, inheriting the drama better than/ A great white, n*gga, this is life in my aquarium.”
I love the smell of fresh beef in the morning, fam.
