Electric Forest is truly one of the most magical places in the world. You don’t have to spend too much time there to come to that realization. People come from all over the world to experience first hand the magic of the forest – soundtracked by some of the hottest names in dance music. Kygo, Odesza, Bassnectar, Zeds Dead, and of course 3 sets from String Cheese Incident will be headlining the fest – but we know there’s so much more. We picked out 7 of our must-see sets from the upcoming forest weekend. If you see us, come dance.
LICK
LICK has had an incredible 12 months – from countless of hard-hitting remixes, to an EP released on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label – it was only a matter of time before he started popping up on festivals all over – and that’s exactly what’s happening. His 4 pm Set on Thursday is going to be the perfect way to kickstart your Electric Forest weekend with a bang. He has been tweeting non-stop how excited for his set he is – keep your eyes peeled for some after hours set from LICK. 👀
Odesza
What else can be said about Odesza that hasn’t been said before? But when you combine the magic of Electric Forest, with what is going to be one of Odesza’s last sets under “A Moment Apart” – you are bound to get something extremely special.
Robotaki
Odds are you’ve heard a Robotaki song this year and said to yourself – “Wow this song is beautiful.” Whether it was on purpose or it came up on your shuffle while on a playlist on Spotify. Robotaki‘s live sets combine some incredibly catchy instrumentation with his fun, sparky, production that put him on the map in the first place for what is going to be a gorgeous daytime set.
Yung Bae
Yung Bae has a chance to be the most fun dance party of the entire weekend. He combines variations of disco, house and even some vaporwave to create productions unlike any other. 11:30 pm deep in the forest is going to be the perfect environment for this kind of dance party.
Dr. Fresch
If you have never experienced a Dr. Fresch show – then Electric Forest is going to be the perfect place to do it for the first time. He combines almost every subset of ‘house music’ into one cohesive piece that works. His track selection is always A1 and I don’t expect this to be any different.
Wuki
Wuki has the unannounced award for produce you hear the most but never know it’s him. He has an unparalleled talent for creating mashups and edits that make their way into everyone’s sets. He recently announced on Twitter that he will be performing a 100% original Wuki set – and we couldn’t be more stoked.
Anomalie
Anomalie‘s musical prowess was discovered by many when Gramatik brought him on tour, His mastery on keys and piano was unmistakeable. His sets combine some incredibly organic beats with some even better live instrumentation. If you’re a fan of acts like Haywyre, you should make it a point to catch one of Anomalie’s 2 scheduled sets.
