Disgraced dubstep producer Datsik watched his career crumble before his eyes last year after several claims of sexual assault were alleged against him. Since then, the DJ has been relatively quiet – but that hasn’t stopped one of the OG producers in the game, Flux Pavilion, for calling out Datsik on something completely unrelated: cultural appropriation.
Of the few questionable moments in Datsiks career. I’m still baffled that no one called the appropriation card on a Canadian kid wearing a Chinese farmers hat calling himself a ninja.

In case you weren’t familiar, before the controversy, Datsik’s brand relied heavily on portraying himself as a ‘ninja’ by wearing the above outfit. As Flux pointed out, a ‘Canadian kid’ leveraging another culture’s traditional attire to look cool at dubstep raves doesn’t seem completely ethical.
