Rising vocalist and producer Jeremy Zucker has quickly risen to the top of artists to watch list. He first came into the spotlight after producing much of Blackbear‘s platinum Digital Druglord album and later enlisting the R&B sensation for “Talk Is Overrated”. Their collaborative single was later remixed by Manila Killa and used as the first single off his 2017 Idle album before he set off on a world tour supporting Lauv. Since then, Jeremy Zucker has followed up with his new 4-track Glisten EP, which features Chelsea Cutler, known for her collaborations alongside Quinn XCII, Louis The Child, and Chet Porter. Glisten‘s lead single “all the kids are depressed” truly stands out as he talks about a subject known personally to many but talked about rarely. Its painful lyrics accurately describe the feelings millions struggle with every day and in turn, the song has already surpassed three million streams on Spotify in just one month. Going above and beyond to get his message across, Zucker created an awe-inspiring music video that will leave you absolutely speechless.
To craft a remix that perfectly visualizes the emotional weight of the song, Zucker invited his fans to share their stories of depression. An outpour of heartbreaking tales became the inspiration for the track’s music video, and the end result is phenomenal. Zucker has composed something of beauty that hits hard with its wrought sentiment and is simply masterful. Watch Jeremy Zucker’s powerful “all the kids are depressed” music video below.
“For people watching this video, I hope that they feel comfort. That they’re not alone. That it’s important to talk about mental illness. That confronting the way they’re feeling and exchanging experiences can make things better, even if it’s just for a moment.” – Jeremy Zucker
