Earlier this week, The Chainsmokers commented on a Reddit thread openly discussing their favorite underrated dance and EDM producers. The Chainsmokers listed Two Friends, k?d, REZZ, Shaun Frank, Louis The Child, Lido “although he is popular but he is just superb and still underrated”, Illenium, Boombox Cartel, Quix and Young Bombs. Get to know these artists with our compilation of some of our favorite tracks and remixes below.
Two Friends
LA duo Two Friends are known for their dance-crazed originals and cross-genre remixes that defy all boundaries. Their remixes vary from classics like The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” and Passion Pit’s “Sleepyhead” to EDM icons like Galantis, The Chainsmokers, and Alesso. The duo’s debut Out Of Love EP featured artists like Cosmos & Creature and MAX and amassed millions of plays. Their style is an eclectic mixture of EDM, pop, house, and future bass, making it diverse, unique, and perfect for any festival and nightclub from Electric Forest to NYC’s Webster Hall and LA’s Fonda Theatre. With almost a hundred originals and remixes to their name, Two Friends is certainly one of the best new dance duos this year.

After amassing millions of plays on his remixes and originals featuring RKCB, Phil Good, Rahn Harper, and more, k?d gained recognition performing alongside artists like The Chainsmokers, RL Grime, Hippie Sabotage, and Gramatik. The young producer combines future bass, EDM and trap to create intricate, intriguing soundscapes and always brings an interesting new perspective to each track he touches. K?d is currently on his first national headlining tour and will be performing at Breakaway Festival, Electric Zoo, and Nocturnal Festival this September.

REZZ
Rising Canadian techno producer REZZ has become one of the top female DJs to follow the likes of Alison Wonderland and Anna Lunoe. Her dark and edgy techno originals and remixes caught the eye of Skrillex and Deadmau5, leading to releases on Nest HQ and Mau5trap. She quickly garnered even more attention, landing her slots at festivals like Mysteryland, HARD Day of the Dead, Tommorowland, HolyShip! and more. REZZ just released her debut album Mass Manipulation last week, which has only furthered her signature sinister sound.

Shaun Frank
Shaun Frank has become an easy favorite with his tracks varying from chill-pop to upbeat dance hits. He’s collaborated with everyone from DVBBS and Steve Aoki to SNBRN and Dr. Fresch, fueling his iconic sound into everything he touches. His tracks have featured rising vocalists such as Ashe but his most recent single “Upsidedown” was the first time we heard his own vocals on a track, showing that Frank has many more tricks up his sleeve. He’s landed guest mixes on both Diplo & Friends and The Chainsmokers’ Nice Hair and has proven himself one of the top producers in the game.

Louis The Child
Louis The Child exploded after their massive single “It’s Strange (feat. K.Flay)” went viral, amassing over 30 millions plays on Spotify alone and a feature on Taylor Swift’s “New Songs That Will Make Your Life Awesome” list. The duo has since featured artists like Icona Pop, Elohim, and Ashe on their originals, remixed tracks by Ty Dolla $ign, toured around the globe and even snagged a guest mix on Diplo & Friends. Their debut Love Is Alive EP was the final touch proving that this young duo not only has talent well beyond their years but also a keen ear for what is up and coming in electronic music.

Lido
Lido is undoubtedly one of the best electronic producers to rise over the past couple of years. He quickly garnered attraction with his association and collaborations with artists like Cashmere Cat, Halsey, Banks, and Chance The Rapper, even landing himself a Grammy award for production on Chance’s Coloring Book. Lido has worked in a variety of genres, producing albums for top rappers and pop stars along with featuring newer artists like R&B vocalist Santell and Mind of a Genius duo THEY. He’s not only one of the pioneers of future bass music but has also become an iconic performer with his live set up in which he performs on keyboard, drums, and even sings. His debut album Everything showcased not only his out of the box production but also his beautifully artistry through its thematic storytelling.

Illenium
This Denver based producer has shot to stardom in only a few short years. Illenium‘s pure momentum has been one of many factors that have landed him in the spotlight along with his distinguished melodic bass soundscapes. His remixes of Flume’s “Say It” and The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” amassed millions of plays each. Most recently, following his massive debut album Ashes, which charted at #1 on the iTunes Electronic Album Chart, Illenium has collaborated with artist like Gryffin and Zeds Dead. Illenium is currently on tour, with recent appearances at EDC, Middlelands, Firefly and Bonnaroo and will be performing at Electric Zoo, Shambhala, Imagine Music Festival, and Voodoo Music and Arts Festival later this year.

Boombox Cartel
LA duo Boombox Cartel have gathered immense institutional support from their exciting, hard-hitting genre-blending productions.
