HARD Summer Sparks Debate with Unorthodox Trailer for 2017 Festival

Hard Summer’s 2017 lineup may be incredibly stacked with big names like Justice, Migos, Bassnectar, Dog Blood and more set to headline, but it’s their newly released trailer that managed to spark debate across the internet.

A controversial stand against gender inequality in the EDM scene, the eight minute trailer directed by Agata Alexander leaves little to the imagination as DJ Snake, What So Not, Party Favor, Kayzo and Claude Vonstroke don fake breasts. Yes…you read that correctly.

In an interview with NestHQ, Agata Alexander described her creative reasoning behind the trailer:

It’s scary for females to voice their opinions about stuff like this, and it’s the reason I put mostly men in the trailer, because as soon as a woman opens her mouth about discrimination she’s a crazy feminist who just needs some dick – how many times have you read comments like that?

I didn’t want to put any other women through that, I’ll take it gladly cause I don’t fucking care but I don’t want to put anyone else through it. And I think it’s so important for men to open up their fucking mouths and loudly say, “It’s really important we support women and give them a fair shot.”

So far the trailer has gained mixed reviews with viewers and bloggers either applauding their effort or asking for the old funny trailers to come back. Decide for yourselves and peep Hard Summer’s 2017 trailer below.
