In perhaps the best news of the day, Spotify took to its enormous user database to bring us an incredible new ad campaign. Highlighting the embarrassing to the downtright weird, the music streaming platform posted billboards across cities featuring hilarious blurbs in preparation for the new year. Spotify said this about the new campaign:
“That [data] led to the idea of reflecting culture via listener behavior. There has been some debate about whether big data is muting creativity in marketing, but we have turned that on its head. For us, data inspires and gives an insight into the emotion that people are expressing.”
