Stööki Sound has been a regular feature at Run The Trap, with their unique London-inspired trap sounds constantly garnering our attention, and their newest release is no exception. Stööki Sound’s Ösiris EP is a fresh take on trap music, with a concept album that pushes genre boundaries and takes you on a journey from start to finish. The EP travels from ambient electronic to UK Grime to trap bangers, all in the course of six tracks. The project is also the first release on their own Ö.N.E Worldwide independent label. Stööki Sound has been incredibly busy with their new EP and North American tour, but I was able to send them over a few questions about the album, touring, and my favorite pop stars. Stream the entire EP below and check out our short conversation with the London producers below.

RTT: Your new Ösiris EP features Jelacee’s Grime MC abilities for the first time in your music. If you could choose any Grime or Hip Hop artist to hear on your next release, who would it be?
Stööki Sound: Hip hop wise, Denzel Curry. Grime wise, AJ Tracey
Did you draw inspiration for your new album in any particular places around the country, or is it still all about that London life?
We drew inspiration from everywhere. Hence the reason why there is the influences of African and South American sounds on Osiris. But yeah, we tied it into the London sound.
What would be your dream collaboration, whether it be with a vocalist, another producer, or both?
We don’t really have a “dream” collaboration. But if we had to choose someone to be close to it, it would be Hudson Mohawke.
You guys have travelled all over the globe. What’s one of your craziest tour stories?
(Jelacee) None that are safe for work.
(DJ Lukey) We played a show in the Ukraine and they were currently going through a war. We had to get escorted from the army from the venue to the hotel. When we were leaving, we were interrogated by the security for like 20 minutes. All concerned about why we were there, and we told them we were DJs, and they asked if we were famous (haha).
If you ran against each other for president/prime minister, who would win?
(Jelacee) I don’t know that answer, it would all depend on what people want, yeah?
Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, or Ke$ha?
Death
