“In 2015, there were 509 murders in Chicago. As of Sept. 26, 2016, there have been 556 murders.”
What’s more disappointing about the above stat — there have been 26 more homicides since September 26th. Like most of us, Chicago-bred producer Aryay has had enough of the senseless violence that Chicago faces on a daily basis.
Aryay decided to make his latest music video a political statement; a call to action to help the at risk youth and those effected by the city’s violence. The uplifting nature of the track is the perfect pair to the celebrative esseence of the video. But Aryay isn’t just walking the walk, he’s also backing it up.
Fans are advised to visit owsla.com/aryay to help the cause by learning more and donating to Kid Off The Block, a Chicago-based non-profit organization with the mission of provide a safe, positive space for Chicago’s at-youth risk to “create, be exposed to new cultures, cultivate skills, and celebrate their accomplishments.” Those who donate are also entered for a chance to win a 2-month splice membership and live production lessons from Aryay himself.
