This is it, after 16 years of waiting Dr. Dre‘s highly, highly anticipated follow-up to Chronic 2001 is now streaming on Apple Music.
The original follow-up, Detox, had apparently been completed by 2014 but Dre just didn’t feel like he was able to meet his own high standards. It took a rehashing of his past via the Straight Out of Compton movie to find the inspiration for this new album appropriately entitled Compton. The album will be available to download at midnight eastern time.
We’ll reserve judgment until we’ve had a chance to digest the whole thing but listening so far all I can think is…
“guess who’s back”
