Major Lazer

Diplo wasn’t kidding when he said he was going to be mainly focusing on his Major Lazer project– aside from getting the full animated treatment for their show on FXX, the crew has released one of the most successful singles of the year with Lean On hitting #1 on the dance charts in almost every major market. Yesterday we were blessed with a remix EP for the featuring mixes by CRNKN, Daktyl, Ephwurd & ETC!ETC!, Fono, Malaa, and Moska and its hard not to be impressed with the variety these producers were able to create working with the same source material. Of course, the CRNKN and Daktyl remixes are particularly noteworthy, with CRNKN invoking some compelling trap elements and Daktyl busting out the synth tones for a wonky, jazzy interlude version (easily my favorite interperetation) but dance music fans of all varieties will likely find “their sound” encapsulated in one of these fantastic remixes!
