Griz – The Anthem (feat. Mike Avery)

With a brand new album and respective tour just on the horizon, the Detroit-based funk master, better known as Griz, shares some brand new music. “The Anthem”  features punchy bass, funky guitar riffs, and some of that classic Griz saxaphone to complement Mike Avery’s vocals.  The track will live on Griz’s upcoming full length album, Say It Loud (due out in March). “I first went out to New York to record with some of the Daptone Records guys to get the main groove of the tune. Then I had to travel out to Van Nuys to record a children’s choir… I finished up the song with Mike Avery in Chicago, and he was one super soulful dude that really captured the golden era funk vibes that I love so much.”
