Lorde‘s “Tennis Court” is a song we’re all very familiar with, especially after Flume decided to remix it and in doing so racked up an overwhelming 9 million plays (which is 3 million more than the original song has got on SoundCloud, just btw).
Of course Diplo would be the only one brave enough to try and challenge it. The punchy bass line in the intro told us straight away that his interpretation of the song is vastly different from Flume’s, opting instead for a lighter trap infused electro approach. He stayed true to the strengths of the original and amplified them with an infectious beat, some new harmonies, and of course a memorable wobbly drop. Although I don’t think it’s a truly worthy opponent for Flume’s remix, it’s definitely catchy and has it’s own merit. Have a listen and decide for yourself!
