Make sure your dancing shoes are tied on tight y’all, because Duck Sauce dropped an Essential Mix a few days ago that will have you dancing like an absolute fool. A-Trak and Armand Van Helden, the two legendary disc jockeys that make up Duck Sauce, are back in action on Pete Tong’s esteemed BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix spot and this mix could not be any tastier. The two mighty ducks spin a groove-packed disco fiesta that not only keeps a smile on your face, but keeps your feet moving the entire time. Quack is undoubtedly back my friends, serving it up hot and fresh to all you big bad wolves out there howling to the moon hoping new for Duck Sauce tunes. If you have ever had the pleasure of seeing Duck Sauce live, you know their set is a dance party and a rocking good time from start to finish. Full of flawless vinyl scratching, funky samples, groovy disco tunes, and plenty of their irresistible hits, this Essential Mix brings back a rush of great memories of shuffling my pants off at Duck Sauce sets.
The Fool’s Gold label head and his disco-brother drop two hours of funky fun, joking about shopping their tunes out to the likes of Billy Joel and George Michaels; all of which were declined. So they toss the grip of unreleased demos into the Essential Mix knowing we would adoringly eat them up. They also share that the second half of the mix is a collection of inspirations over the course of their long and illustrious careers, the sounds that inspired their forthcoming album, Quack. The fellas disclose that some of the disco delights they spin in their mix come from their super secret, hallowed record crates full of rare treats. I reckon those two record crates are probably two of the best in the world.
Armand and A-Trak take us on a wacky, fun filled adventure to Duck Mountain and back in this two hour mix. With the first single off of their new album titled, “It’s You” already out there, priming everyone for some good soulful disco dance music to come, this mix just hypes up the return of Duck Sauce to another level. This mix is the perfect soundtrack for pretty much anything. Take this mix on a jog with you, its perfect to vibe to. Or put it on at your next party, and you’ll be a hero. Or show it to your parents and show them how nu-disco gets down. You can have it aNYway that you want it. So check the stream below and dance like its nobody’s business. Enjoy.
