Amsterdam trap trio Yellow Claw have been an almost unseen yet dominating force since their first singles and mixes have been released on Soundcloud over a year ago. With releases like “IBETCHU” and an upcoming release with trap superstars Flosstradamus, Yellow Claw has been making quite the name for themselves in the Trap and EDM community alike.
Now, these three crazy dutch bastards have done it again with their newest EP, Amsterdam Twerk Music. The EP offers some brand new sounds and styles never before heard from the group, with some real heavy-hitting drops.
Yellow Claw – Amsterdam Twerk Music EP
“DJ Turn it Up,” is a classic boom and bounce track that gets the EP started off nice and slow. Some simple hip-hop beats and easy drops, along with some pretty heavy bass, make this track a perfect for afraid to get a little dirty. Nothing too fancy but still enough to get the booty shaking, for sure.
Next up on the EP we have “Assets” featuring Tropkillaz and The Kemist. This track features a lot more of that dark Yellow Claw sound we’ve come to love over the past year. The vocal distortions and dirty synth sounds work together to give you back that stank face you were missing on “DJ Turn it Up.”
“P*$$YRICH featuring Adje” is the third track up on this EP and is by far the dirtiest out of the four. The first drop features your classic Yellow Claw screech synth, and as we get to the breakdown (featuring some pretty great pro-Amsterdam-girl lyrics) we’re led straight into some of that very much missed Yellow Claw Moombah.
Speaking of Moombah, on the fourth and final track of the Amsterdam Twerk Music EP Yellow Claw teams up with Moombahton legend DJ Snake and Spanker on “Slow Down” which starts out with some old school organ synths reminiscent of some of that classic 90’s techno, and just they did on “P*$$YRICH,” Yellow Claw throws in that Moombahton beat right at the end to make sure EVERYONE gets up.
The album will definitely be one to set the bar for the group as well as all other trap artists in the game right now. These four tracks are some of the best we’ve heard from Yellow Claw, and we’re sure you’ll be hearing them in mixes and live sets for months and months to come.
