Diplo Claims Mad Decent Block Party Won’t Return To Chicago

Mad Decent Block Party and Chicago have a weird relationship. Most chicago EDM fans can remember seeing the Instagram pictures of police officers with riot gear with #Maddecentblockparty as the hashtag. That’s because in 2012, the event got way too out of hand and gatecrashers could not be contained causing an almost stampede about halfway through the event. It was promptly cancelled for the rest of the day… It seems that this is the root of the problem.

2015 saw the return of The Mad Decent Block Party in Chicago with a lineup that featured Major Lazer, Martin Solveig, UZ and Towkio…but don’t plan on seeing it back anytime soon says Diplo.

It started with Diplo saying that Chicago was the worst stop on the tour…and it only got worse. You can still see all the tweets from Diplo’s Twitter. It’s harsh.

 

Diplo’s claims only get worse from here. He praises the fans, but keeps bashing the city, claiming that the city required a bribe for him to get a venue.

Obviously we have no evidence on the matter besides Diplo’s claims, but he does cite Riot Fest and their forced location change as evidence as well. Yikes.

 

Don’t worry. Diplo will be back. But MDBP won’t.
